Sandals Grande Antigua Travel Agent Review: Part 2: The resort
Here’s the scoop on Sandals Grande Antigua and the layout of the resort. Basically, there are two sides to the resort; the original side (Caribbean Village) and the new side (Mediterranean Village). Here’s a description of each: Both sides have incredible rooms and atmosphere for you to have an incredible romantic honeymoon, destination wedding, vow renewal, or anniversary vacation!
Caribbean Grove: A Garden of Eden
The Caribbean Grove is the original part of the resort and offers a very private, tranquil, Garden of Eden appeal. In fact many of the rooms are labeled as “Garden of Eden” …. for their description on this side of the resort. If you are looking for a tropical and authentic Caribbean vibe, then you’ll love this part of the resort. The rooms are all set up in different areas and nothing is a high-rise. There are a lot of little cottages and several coves with a pool for a quiet and relaxing time away from it all.

Not Only Beautiful Gardens, But So Close to the Beach!
The Caribbean Village gives you the best of both worlds. It is tranquil and romantic, especially if you are celebrating your honeymoon, or having a destination wedding. The Caribbean Village is also set up very close to the beach, So you won’t have to walk more than a couple minutes from any spot to go for a refreshing swim, or just relax and feel the ocean breeze.
Mediterranean Village: Cosmopolitan Flair
This is the new part of the resort and it offers a more cosmopolitan, chic and modern vibe. The grounds are very lush and tropical and the pool and swim-up bar are spectacular.
There are some fantastic rooms in the Mediterranean Village. All are very modern, and extremely romantic! The rooms are very spacious, have 4 posts beds, flat screen TVs, and great looking bath and shower areas with his and her wash basins! Keep in mind that all the rooms on this side of the resort are Concierge and Butler service.
The main buildings (Almond & Cypress) are set back from the water, but still offer great views of the ocean, especially on higher floors. Please call me for details on suite locations…especially if you prefer a higher floor!
No matter where you stay, you will not be unhappy in either area. You can still hang out wherever, it’s not like you have to stay on the side where your room is. Let’s face it, not everyone has the money to get into a Concierge or Butler suite and can only afford the lead-in room category. No worries, you’ll still have a great experience…this resort ROCKS! Love beaches? Love pools? Love water sports? Love food? Looking for luxury? Looking for great service? Looking for pampering, relaxation, romance and fun? THIS IS THE RESORT FOR YOU!
I recommend this resort for: Destination weddings, Honeymoons, Renewal of Vows, Couples getaways, Romantic/Anniversary getaways.
Some fun things to do while your there!
Some daily activities that occur at the resort that you can do if you choose: Aqua Aerobics, Yoga, Anklet making class, Name that Tune (game), Pool Volleyball, Bingo Bonanza, Sand Volleyball, Local bands play, Karaoke, sing along at the Piano Bar, Table tennis tournament, Antigua & Barbuda Jamboree, Salsa Dance class, Cultural Extravaganza, Dance parties etc. Check the “Daily Guest News” for the schedule of activities as well as special events at restaurants and specials at the Red Lane Spa and Island Routes tours desk.
