Cancun
Located on the tip of the Yucatan peninsula, Cancun is probably Mexico's most visited tourist destination and has been rated Apple Vacation’s #1 destination. Riviera Maya
Just south of Cancun rests the new development of The Riviera Maya. The Riviera Maya is the fastest growing resort area in Mexico. The Riviera Maya is a 112-mile stretch of unspoiled beaches, stunning blue waters, majestic jungles, and ancient Mayan ruins. The Riviera Maya is home to many world class resorts and within driving distance of Cancun, Cozumel and many other incredible Yucatan sites. Besides swimming and relaxing on the beach, there are also some great excursions to be taken, such as Playa del Carmen’s trendy restaurants, bars, and shops, Akumal and Xel-Ha are a snorkeler’s paradise with all of their subterranean rivers and caves, and don’t forget about Tulum’s ancient Mayan ruins.
Cozumel
Just south of Cancun lies Mexico's largest island, Cozumel. This Caribbean jewel offers excellent diving and snorkeling because of its renowned underwater clarity of up to 150 feet. Cozumel’s Palancar Reef, which is three miles offshore, gives snorkelers and divers breath- taking underwater views. The eastern side of the island has miles of white beaches virtually unchanged from when the Mayans lived there. You can also take jeep tours around the island, explore Mayan ruins found in the jungle, or just lie on the beach and relax.
Puerto Vallarta
It is easy to see why travelers fall in love with the people and scenery in Puerto Vallarta. This tourist region has many types of adventurous locales to enjoy, from long expansive beaches, to jungle and mountainous areas. Wherever you are, you can take a relatively inexpensive taxi or bus ride into downtown for shopping, or try some of the fantastic restaurants located on the boardwalk.
The town has colonial history, and the roads in the downtown area are cobblestone. With many incredible sculptures decorating public places. The people here are overwhelmingly friendly. Considered one of the safest cities in the world, Puerto Vallarta has many Jungle excursions and canopy tours are available; as well as, whale watching in the "cooler" half of the year.
Los Cabos
Resting on the tip of the Baja peninsula, breathtaking beaches run along the resort area of Los Cabos. The two towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo have a 20 mile corridor that contains all kinds of oceanfront resorts. There are many excursions you can take to enjoy the Los Cabos area. You can go Deep sea fishing, or put in a few holes of golf. Los Cabos also has exciting night life all year round.
Acapulco
Thanks to a complete revitalization, Acapulco has again become a major player in tropical vacation destinations. Vacationers are giving Acapulco great reviews and the mountain views are some of the most beautiful in the world. Acapulco Bay continues to be one of the most beautiful places in the region; as well as the Sierra Madre Mountain range. It is always fun to visit La Quebrada and watch divers plunge 135 feet into the cove. After a long day of swimming, hiking, touring, or just spending time at the beach, you can enjoy an excellent dinner and take advantage of Acapulco’s incredible night life. You could say this is the city that never sleeps.
